Let’s face it: the App Store teems with fast-paced games packed with action and suspense, especially on the iPad end of the spectrum because developers have so much space to use to their advantage. It’s all about the next new zombie game, or the arcade game that brings a new twist on an old classic. However, there are only so many of these games you can try out before they become stale.

When it launched just over a year and a half ago, Clear received a lot of hype. For good reason: it was like no other task management app out there. However, it only graced the screens of iPhones and iPods. Until now.

For those who have ever taken a Spanish or French class, you know that language learning can not only be a bore, but very challenging. But the rewards of speaking many languages exceed just that of being fluent in more than one tongue.

So, when I first stumbled upon Duolingo about two years ago, I was very interested. While I don’t remember how I exactly discovered the service, I do know that I am glad that I found it. Most of us have seen the hilariously yet morbidly cute video called Dumb Ways to Die that went viral earlier this year. Something about those cute little cartoon characters singing and dancing to the tune of stupid decisions is just so luring. I mean, setting fire to your hair had never been that catchy before this video.
