Does Twitter’s New Rules Mean the Death of Third-Party Apps?

Just a few days ago, Twitter announced a new version of their API, and it’s a doozy. Although there has been plenty of lead time on these concepts, at the end of the day there is great concern in the blogosphere that the new rules will eventually mean the death of third-party apps like Tweetbot and Twitteriffic.

What do you think? Is this all much ado about nothing, or will we lose Twitter as we know it today? Let us know in the poll to the right.

Really, I see no cause for alarm.

Third party apps will around for years to come, currently any statistic analysis will show that no one app is close to having the 100, 000 special approval zone so there is no need to worry about the future.
