Frisbee Forever 2: The Extreme Ultimate Frisbee Game

When it comes down to simply fun iOS apps, there are a few developers that just hit it perfectly. One of these developers that we rely on is Kiloo. They have never failed to impress with games like Frisbee Forever or Subway Surfers. With their newest app, Frisbee Forever 2, we are glad to say that Kiloo has done a marvelous job. Was it good enough to oust the original Frisbee Forever from its glory? Or will it live in its older brother’s shadow for the rest of its life? Find out after the break.

Flight of the Frisbee

Frisbee Forever 2 is played just like its predecessor. At the flick of your finger, your frisbee will fly its way through eight different worlds, each with its own theme. It is your job to keep the frisbee in the air by flying it through the rings using the tap or tilt controls.

Fly your way through several different themed worlds.

While flying, you also want to collect stars. For every three stars you collect, you will earn one “star coin.” Plus, if you collect all the stars in one level, you have officially beaten the level and get a gold medal.

Star coins go towards unlocking new levels, upgrades and frisbees.

Per usual, the game starts off pretty easy and gets harder as you go on. Levels do get fairly hard pretty quickly, especially after purchasing new worlds. The slightest deviation can make or break your chances at getting a gold medal, so I found myself playing levels over several times before finally getting it perfect. That being said, you do get your fair share of game time.

Twists and Turns

While the basic gist of the game is the same as that of the first Frisbee Forever, Frisbee Forever 2 offers some wonderful additions that can’t be found in original. Perhaps the most prominent of these features is game missions.

Game missions add a new dimension to the game.

Game missions add a new dimension to the game.

Missions are essentially tasks that need to be completed to earn experience points, or XP. Players are given three missions at a time, and each mission varies in difficulty. The more difficult missions are worth more XP than the easier missions. On completion of the mission, you are awarded the amount of XP the mission was worth, and a new mission appears in its place. All of the XP you earn from missions attribute to your rank, another feature that is new to the game. By ranking up, you are able to unlock new bonus levels. However, the higher your rank is, the harder the missions will be and the longer it will take to move up to the next rank.

When it comes down to obstacles, this game has no shortage. Besides for the fans, tubes, and turbo lanes, Frisbee Forever 2 welcomes some new challenging obstacles to its lineup. Among these are bombs, rotating saws and magnets — all of which add another layer of toughness to the game.

Some purchases will be necessary in order to progress in the game. For example, you will need to spend coins to unlock additional worlds. Although it doesn’t happen all too often, you may have to spend coins on upgrades in order to complete missions. Of course, there are several frisbees up for purchase. Organized into categories like sports, food and flags, there is a frisbee to fit anyone’s taste. They also have frisbees based off Wham-O ones that are sold in stores, as well as some novelty items like sunglasses or UFOs to toss.

You can unlock frisbees by completing bonus levels and sometimes through the gifts collected while flying.

Upgrades and More

Upgrades are yet another new feature that made its way into this iteration of the app. Some examples of upgrades are XP increases for missions, coin and gift spawning, and the ability to attract stars from afar. There are tiers of upgrades; the higher the tier, the more it will cost.

Upgrades can help you out a lot—especially in the star coin department.

If you are desperate for coins, you are able to buy packs of star coins for anywhere between $0.99 to $24.99 via an in-app purchase. You can also watch sponsored videos and follow Kiloo on various social networks to get star coins for free.

Graphics in Frisbee Forever 2 are pretty solid. The app sports Kiloo’s simple user interface elements as well as their signature fun, colorful, 3D art, which is quite improved this time around from the original game.
