Not a cat person? Never fear, this completely pointless yet highly amusing app is also available in dog form, too. Woof.

Akinator the Genie

Akinator the Genie can guess the exact character you happen to be thinking about at that particular moment, simply by asking a series of questions. How? I have no idea, but color me impressed!

Characters may be real or fictional, and once Akinator the Genie has guessed correctly, the app will display the number of times that character has been played, along with the option to add a question or picture associated with them.

Talking Tom

Talking Tom is a cat that will mimic your every word in a squeaky, high-pitched voice. Annoying? Very, but also strangely addictive. Pet Tom to hear him purr, or poke his stomach and watch him double over in pain.

Additional animations can be unlocked via an in-app purchase, while every move may be recorded to form a short video that can be shared with friends and family via social media or email.

iSwap Faces

Use iSwap Faces to morph one person into another in record time, eliminating the need for expensive editing software. All you have to do is select a photograph, place the two masks, et voilà — your chosen faces have successfully been switched!

iSwap Faces saves images at nine times the iPad’s screen resolution, and will have you trawling Facebook for hours in search of unsuspecting victims to switch and laugh at.

Better Pig Latin is free to use, but advanced features such as audio playback can be unlocked for 99 cents, which is a bargain if you ask me, especially when you consider the amount of fun to be had confusing the heck out of people.

The Harlem Shake

The Harlem Shake went viral in February 2013, prompting many people to replicate this famous meme, and spawning several apps in the process.

The Harlem Shake will help you compose a Harlem Shake of your very own in just two takes, complete with slow motion ending. The app itself is free to use, but an in-app purchase of 99 cents is required to save your video, which may be bypassed through visiting affiliate websites.

    These look like some fun apps, Hanna; thanks for the post. I’m going to check out Cat Piano Concerto and iSwap Faces later tonight after I get home from my shift at DISH. I recently found an awesome app called DISH Anywhere. It streams live TV and DVR recordings right to my phone, so I can watch the Rockies play baseball live, even when I am stuck working at my desk.
