EA’s annually-refreshed series of FIFA games are an impressive achievement for the developer. Next to Call of Duty, the year’s FIFA game is one of few products to regularly receive overnight queues and widespread sell outs, at least in the UK. And the success of the series is far from unjust with even the most minimal fans of the sport being able to have a great time in the competitive setting.

Sport games aren’t new for iOS but, to be honest, they aren’t something I’ve opted for in the past. However, when FIFA 13 happened to be a launch-optimised universal title for the iPhone 5, I decided to give it a go with some impressive results. Let’s take a look! (more…)

I’m a huge sports fan. I love playing, watching and involving myself in variety of sports all the time  — obviously it would make sense then to have a few sports games on my iPad. A dilemma I face sometimes though, is that the market for sport games on iOS is saturated with tons of apps you could really do without. With the Olympics still a recent memory as well, there’s never been a better time to love sports.

In this list, I have been concise in selecting, in my opinion, the best of the best sport games out there for the iPad. These are the ten that offer the most full and exiting experience for the sport in question. Let’s begin. (more…)

I love sports. Since the day I bought my iPad, I have used it to manage my fantasy teams, watch sports, and keep up to date on the latest news for the teams I follow. I played sports in high school and college and have coached at various levels. I still love to jump in a competitive game when I get a chance.

When I learned about CoachNote, I was excited to give it a try and find out if it would turn my iPad into a useful coaching tool.

Even if you haven’t grown up playing sports, you can probably remember a sports movie where the team huddles around the coach while he draws up the last winning play on a white board. CoachNote aims to replace that white board and make it much, much better. It is, essentially, a digital whiteboard that can be used as a great teaching tool for almost any sport. Allowing you to save and animate plays and drills so they can be quickly accessible whenever you need them.
