Role-playing games are a time-tested classic and one of my favourite video game genres. When you think of good RPGs, the first thing that springs to mind isn’t usually mobile devices, however, that assumption can be put to one side once you try out Pocket Legends for iPad.
Pocket Legends is the most featured RPG and the largest MMO out there for the iPad. I was a bit of a skeptic when I was first told about it; with no price tag, the deal seemed to good to be true. Rest assured though, it has a lot to offer for RPG fans. Lets see what makes this game as good as it is. (more…)
As iOS gaming has gotten more and more popular over the years, we’ve seen a deluge of incredibly addictive quick-fix games mostly catered towards the casual market. While such games have definitely served their purpose, it’s no secret that hardcore gamers have been left in the dark with very few titles that satisfy their need for something more. As a result, iOS gaming has mostly been looked at as ground-zero for noob-friendly throwaway titles by the gaming elite.
With Heroes of Order & Chaos (which I will refer to as HOC going forward), Gameloft is taking another step in an attempt to once again win over portable gaming nay-sayers with their own MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) as a spinoff to last year’s release of Order & Chaos Online MMO. It’s Game Week here at iPad.AppStorm, and all this week we’re going to have tons of reviews, giveaways and other good stuff, all centered around the gaming world!
Though some would prefer to celebrate Game Week by flying solo with single player experiences like The Walking Dead or Horn (which are equally as awesome, mind you), the rest of us just want to jump into an online showdown of wits and skills with other players around the world.
Here we have some of the best multiplayer experiences the iPad has to offer. Some are new, some are old, but all of them are guaranteed to provide competitive fun for hours on end. Okay, perhaps not everyone has hours to spare for gaming, but fortunately you’ll have no problem hopping in and out of any of these titles for short-but-sweet game sessions. More after the jump.
